Disabled Children & Young People: The Law in a Day @ The Holiday Inn
Jun 25 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

We are thrilled to be hosting a training session delivered by barrister Steve Broach.

Steve will be presenting ‘Disabled Children and Young People: The Law In A Day’. The training is very interactive and there are lots of opportunities for people to ask general questions, although Steve cannot of course advise on individual cases during the training. Steve will cover the key legal duties in relation to health, education and social care for children and young people aged 0-25. Issues covered will include social care assessments and rights to short breaks and other services, Education Health and Care needs assessments and plans and the rights of children with complex health needs. Steve will also cover broader issues of general relevance, such as discrimination law and duties around fair consultation.

The session lasts from 10.00am until 2.00pm, refreshments will be provided, as will a light lunch.

Focus Group – Autism @ The Bolton Hub
Jul 2 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am

We want to gather a group of parents together to enable us to have an informal discussion about ways in which it would be ideal to offer support to families with a child, either going through an autism diagnosis, or who have recently had an autism diagnosis.

Parents that we would like to join the discussion would have experience of going through an autism diagnosis with their child – it doesn’t matter when it was, just that you understand the journey.

The discussion will help us develop some resources that we ill be providing later this year for families who have a child undergoing an autism diagnosis on what will be the new Bolton autism diagnostic pathway.

Focus Group – Preparing for Adulthood @ The Bolton Hub
Jul 2 @ 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

We want to gather a group of parents together to enable us to have an informal discussion about ways in which it would be ideal to offer support to parents and carers of children and young people who are 14-25. This part of the SEND journey is referred to as ‘preparing for adulthood’ and can be a daunting prospect for many families.

Parents that we would like to join the discussion would have a child or young person, with SEND, who is 14-25.

The discussion will help us develop some opportunities for parents and carers to be able to access to be supported through the 14-25 SEND journey.
