The Consortium have been invited to be parent representatives on a team that has come together to map the pathway to an Autism Diagnosis in Bolton.

The issue of timescales and parents feeling confused about the process was raised within the recent Ofsted & CQC Local Area Inspection, which has lead to this team being formed.

The team is lead by the Bolton CCG and is comprised by representation from senior figures from the Community Pediatric Team, CAMHS, Speech, Language and Communication Team, Educational Psychology, Ladywood Outreach and Education. To ensure that parent voices are also heard, the Consortium and IAS (Information & Advisory Service) will also be sitting on the team.

To ensure that we hear as many experiences as possible – the good, the bad and the ugly, we will be putting together a focus group that can feed in to us, to feed in to the team. We need your stories, your suggestions and your opinions as this journey continues.

If you are interested in being part of that focus group, please let us know, or if you simply like to drop us a line with your experience, then please email us at co-chairs@bpcc.org.uk
